As the UK’s leading veterinary charity we exist to treat the sick and injured pets of people in need, and every member of our team is essential in fulfilling this mission. We have a great opportunity for a vet wishing to undertake an exciting non-clinical role.
Working as part of our Policy & Campaigns team, the Veterinary Communications Manager will deliver a varied programme of evidence-based pet wellbeing and human behaviour change campaigns and messages through all our different communication channels, ensuring consistency and credibility of all content.
This role has responsibility to:
- Drive the development and delivery of the PDSA Animal Wellbeing (PAW) Report, working cross functionally to ensure maximum impact.
- Develop and deliver creative, innovative, issues-led campaigns and initiatives to help change pet owner behaviour and drive the pet wellbeing agenda both internally and externally.
- Work closely with the PR Team on veterinary issues and campaigns with media involvement and drive the direction and focus of any messaging to increase the impact of our pet wellbeing work.
- Develop media skills to help front campaigns which require veterinary expertise.
The successful candidate will be MRCVS registered with a real passion for improving pet wellbeing. A skilled communicator and experienced team leader, coupled with excellent project-management, literacy and MS Office skills, they will inspire others to create and deliver innovative campaigns and messaging that has a real impact on improving pet wellbeing.
As the UK’s leading veterinary charity, with 48 Pet Hospitals, we strive to improve pets’ lives – through prevention, education and treatment. Every year our dedicated vet teams carry out 2.7 million treatments on 470,000 pets. Our national network of around 120 high street shops help us to provide these treatments through selling both donated and new goods.
