RSPCA Behaviour and Welfare Advisor

We have an exciting opportunity for a Full time Behaviour and Welfare Adviser to join the team at RSPCA Cornwall. The RSPCA is dedicated to finding unwanted, mistreated and abused animals loving permanent homes.As a Behaviour and Welfare Adviser you will be responsible for assessing and monitoring case and signed-over animals in the RSPCA’s care. This will include devising behavioural plans, carrying out or overseeing environmental and behavioural modification to maintain high standards of welfare, supporting successful rehoming and reducing return rates.



You’ll have: Formal qualification in dog/animal welfare, behaviour and training at a minimum of level 4



Experience of the care, husbandry and handling of animals gained whilst working in the animal care/welfare industry (desirable)



Practical experience of the application of theoretical behaviour modification and training principles



Experience of working and communicating with the general public



IT skills



Proven ability to lead/supervise a team



Experience of leading training sessions either 1:1 or groups.



Salary £25,000
