The Section for Ecology and Evolution, Department of Biology, Faculty of Science at the University of Copenhagen, has a vacant postdoc position in Animal Behaviour. The position is open from 1 August 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. The employment period is 2 years ½.
The application deadline is 1 March 2021.
This postdoc position is part of a project funded by a Carlsberg Young Research Fellowship aimed at investigating the link between vocal communication and group dynamics in non-human animals. The postdoc will integrate the Behavioural Biology group (https://www.behavioural-ecology-group.com/) to work on vocal contagion of emotions in sheep. This will involve developing a system to track the spread of emotions through a group of animals via emotional vocalisations, based on heart-rate monitoring and infrared thermography.
Apart from research, the successful applicant will be involved in teaching and student supervision. The post may also include performance of other duties.
